Our January Stewardship and Finance committee meeting was held on 

January 9th at 7:30 PM.

 

Subjects discussed

 

1) Opening devotion was led by John and was based on James 1: 19-20

 

2) The financial results through December were reviewed along with the 

Treasurer's Report from Dave. Expenses for the year were well managed. 

It is disappointing to see that Member Regular Envelope giving was over 

$8,000 less than what was budget and also almost $4,000 less than 2010. 

We certainly hope that our Growing in Grace program can begin to turn 

this ongoing trend around.

 

3) Update on Growing in Grace - Cathy sent an email saying that she is 

working with Ed Kruse on Time and Talent ideas. She also has a meeting 

scheduled with him on January 30 that John will attend.

The first Sunday of Growing in Grace contributions took place on January 

8th and appeared to be relatively successful. Starting in February 

there will be a note in the bulletin on the first Sunday of the month to 

bring the congregations attention to the cause that is being uplifted 

that month.

 

4) The Church Budget for 2012 will be finalized, hopefully, on Thursday 

January 12th and presented to the Church Council at its meeting on the
