Dear Parents,

 

The Grace Lutheran Education Committee is planning for the coming Sunday School year! 

 

We are still trying to clean up our student rosters and we need your help!  Over the past few years we have had families move, change churches or just stop coming to Sunday School.  We want to make sure that the families who want to be part of our Sunday School program are getting the information they need and that we have the Sunday School staff and materials available for all who want to grow in their Christian faith with us.  Rather than a spread sheet to update our Sunday School registrations this year, we are asking you to complete the attached Sunday School Registration Form.  This year, we are also asking about allergies, health conditions or special needs that our Sunday School staff should know about.  We are also eager to fill in our records with baptism dates (at least the year) and if your child(ren) has completed First Communion Class. 

 

Our Sunday School year will begin on Sunday, September 11, 2011 and continue through May, 2012.  Sunday School will run from 9:30-10:30 a.m.  Classes will be offered for pre-schoolers (age 3) through 8th grade.  The attached registration form is due by August 22, 2011.  We would REALLY appreciate your help in getting our students registered so we can recruit enough teachers, order materials and assign classrooms for the various age groups. 

 

We do want to make note of the importance of attending Sunday School and that having your children attend on a regular basis is VERY important.  We do understand that children may not be able to attend every Sunday and if that is the case for your family, please let us know this so we can inform the teacher.  Our teachers spend many hours preparing lessons for all the students in their class and it makes it very hard to teach a class of 2 or 3 students when they have planned on a full class.  Your children are greatly missed by the teachers and their classmates when they are not there.  If for any reason you feel you can not get your child to Sunday School at least 1-2 Sundays a month, please let us know right away so we know how much material to order which will help save on the Sunday School budget (the cost for curriculum is over $40 per child).  We welcome all children to attend as often as possible - it helps the students get to know their teachers, other students, new songs & Bible stories and most importantly, the power of God’s love.
